Approximately 40 percent of Canadians live in Ontario. The province is home to Ottawa &#8211; Canada&#8217;s capital city, as well as Toronto &#8211; the country&#8217;s largest city and primary business and financial center. Ontario is the economic, social and political heartland of Canada. It is by far the most popular destination in Canada for new immigrants from around the world, making it the most multicultural province in the country.<\/p><p>The population in the province speaks 125 spoken languages, and hails from over 200 different countries. Formerly called the Opportunities Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (OOPNP), the program is designed for prospective immigrants who possess the specific skills and experience needed in the province.<\/p><p>The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) supports employers by facilitating the immigration of managerial, professional and skilled foreign workers and international students required to meet their human resources needs.\u00a0<\/p><p>The province of Ontario operates the OINP in partnership with the federal immigration department, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Interested candidates must follow a two-stage process:<\/p><ol><li>Application for nomination to the provincial government<\/li><li>Those nominated by the province may apply for permanent residence sub-categories:<\/p><ul><li>International graduate streams<\/li><li>Express Entry streams<\/li><\/ul><p>The streams\u00a0is suitable for international graduates with a master\u2019s degree or a PhD from an eligible Ontario university.<\/p><p>Once you are notified that this application is successful and you have been nominated by Ontario, you can proceed to apply for permanent residence.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aea6998 elementor-widget elementor-widget-accordion\" data-id=\"aea6998\" Requirements<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1831\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"1\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1831\"><ol><li>At least one year of full-time study in an eligible university in Ontario, and provided you complete a master&#8217;s degree by the end of your studies.<br \/>In case you received a grant, scholarship or bursary which obliges you to return home at the end of your studies you will not be eligible.\u00a0<\/li><li>Your application must be submitted within 2 years of completion of your master&#8217;s degree.\u00a0<\/li><li>Language proficiency in French or in English at a CLB level 7 or higher.\u00a0<\/li><li>Legally reside in Ontario for the duration of at least 1 year during the 2 years prior to your application.\u00a0<\/li><li>Demonstrate <strong>intent to live<\/strong> in Ontario after your approval.<\/li><li>Provide proof of sufficient funds to provide for yourself and any family members joining you in Canada.\u00a0<\/li><li>You must be either outside of Canada or legally residing in Ontario at the time of your application. You are not eligible if you are residing in any other province at the time of your application.\u00a0<\/li><li>If applying whilst legally residing in Ontario, you must ensure your legal status is Only one key staff applicant can be in the\u00a0NOC\u00a0skill type A position, the remaining key staff must be in the\u00a0NOC\u00a0skill level 0.<\/li><li>The staff member needs to have a minimum of <strong>3 years&#8217; experience with your company<\/strong> in the intended position from the last 4 years.<\/li><li>The staff member has been <strong>working continuously<\/strong> in that position in your company in the 12 months immediately prior to the application.<\/li><li>The staff member does not have immediate family with any member of your corporation\u2019s executive board or board of directors or shareholders holding over 10% equity in your company.<\/li><li>The staff member does not hold now or in the past equity in your corporation, except in the case where that equity was obtained as part of their employee contract.
